One of the ways to check whether you have contracted an STD is by means of a smear test, also known as a swab. You can do a smear test in the comfort of your own home.

To perform a smear test, use a special cotton swab. You use this to swab the place where you may have contracted an STD, based on the type of STD test. This can be in the throat, anus or vagina. This allows you to take a sample of the potentially infected mucous membrane.
This body sample is placed in a corresponding vial. For safety reasons, this is also put in a watertight and airtight seal bag and then it can be sent to the laboratory via the return box. That’s where the analysis takes place. It can then be determined whether you have actually contracted an STD or not.
